Torre de Séñigo
Spain, Spain
The Torre de Séñigo is a 12th-century fortified tower located in the now-depopulated village of Séñigo within Sigüenza municipality, Guadalajara province, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain.
Built as Christian defensive architecture under the Sigüenza bishopric shortly after the 1123 Reconquista, it stood alongside a small hermitage dedicated to Sant Iñigo and a casa fuerte, serving as a local stronghold amid repopulation efforts documented from 1180.
Severely deteriorated by the 1970s and fully collapsed in October 2002, only scant ruins remain today as a lost testament to medieval frontier vigilance near Sigüenza's historic core.
