Torre Glòries
Barcelona, Spain, Spain
Torre Glòries, formerly Torre Agbar, is a striking 144-meter modern skyscraper designed by French architect Jean Nouvel in Barcelona's Poblenou district, completed in 2005 as headquarters for the Agbar water company.
Its bullet-shaped form draws inspiration from Montserrat mountains and Gaudí's Sagrada Família bell towers, featuring two concentric concrete cylinders clad in 59,619 colorful aluminum panels and 4,500 glass windows that shift hues with light, evoking a shimmering fountain symbolizing water.
Now housing offices, cultural spaces, and a public mirador on the 33rd floor offering 360-degree city views, it stands as Barcelona's third-tallest building and an icon of high-tech bioclimatic architecture.
