Torrocelles, located in Lucena del Cid near Atzeneta in Castellón province, Valencian Community, Spain, consists of a small medieval castle and adjacent hermitage originating from the Islamic era as an advanced defensive outpost guarding a narrow valley pass between the territories of Alcaltén and Culla castles.

The trapezoidal fortress features irregular limestone walls in espiga pattern with mortar, a prominent square tower on the south facade boasting a Gothic arched entrance and robust dovetail voussoirs, saeteras loopholes, and a tosca interior staircase, reflecting early Reconquista military architecture.

Strategically positioned to control routes during Muslim-Christian frontier conflicts, the heterogeneous site expanded over time with religious elements, standing as a rare example of combined military-religious construction amid the rugged Maestrazgo landscape.
