Trojský Zámek
Prague, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Trojský Zámek (Troja Palace) is one of Prague’s finest Baroque landmarks, located in the Troja district near the Prague Zoo and Botanical Garden. It was built between 1679 and 1691 as a summer residence for Count Václav Vojtěch of Šternberk and was inspired by French and Italian palace architecture. The palace is especially famous for its magnificent ceremonial hall decorated with impressive Baroque frescoes, as well as its grand staircase adorned with sculptures depicting battles between gods and giants. It is surrounded by formal gardens featuring fountains, ornamental vases, vineyards, and carefully designed landscaping. Today, the palace is owned by the City of Prague and managed by the Prague City Gallery. It is open to visitors and hosts exhibitions, making it both an important historical monument and a vibrant cultural venue.
