Tureborg Castle
Uddevalla, Sweden, Sweden
Tureborg Castle, located in Uddevalla, Sweden, is a mock medieval fortress built between 1899 and 1912 by eccentric newspaper publisher Ture Malmgren, inspired by Rhine Valley castles in Germany.
The grand structure featured over 40 rooms, multiple towers, a knight's hall, bowling alley, music room, secret passages, and lavish interiors displaying artworks by Anders Zorn, constructed without blueprints using postcards as guides.
Abandoned after Malmgren's death and destroyed by fire in 1950, its stone ruins remain a prominent local landmark on a hilltop overlooking the town, preserved by the Tureborg Society.
