Ulfsunda Slott
Solna, Sweden, Sweden
Ulfsunda Slott, located in the Bromma district of western Stockholm near Ulvsundasjön lake, was constructed between 1644 and 1647 by Field Marshal Lennart Torstenson in Swedish Baroque style with Renaissance influences, featuring a central main building flanked by wings, decorative frescoes of Roman warriors, and coffered ceilings.
Owned by noble families like Torstenson until 1727, then Bielke, Gyllenkrook, Rudenschöld, and Ruuth, it underwent significant Empire-style remodeling in the 1830s under Baron Gustaf von Essen, including a flat roof and plastered facades, while preserving original doors and fireplaces.
Today, the historic manor operates as a boutique hotel, conference center, and event venue blending 17th-century charm with modern amenities amid gardens and lakeside paths.
