---

Uppsala Cathedral is the largest cathedral in the Nordic countries and one of Sweden’s most important religious and historic buildings.

Located in the city of Uppsala, it was built mainly between the late 13th and 15th centuries in the Gothic style and serves as the seat of the Archbishop of Uppsala, the head of the Church of Sweden. The cathedral has played a central role in Swedish history, serving for centuries as the traditional coronation site of Swedish monarchs.

It is also the burial place of notable figures such as King Eric IX, Gustav Vasa, and the scientist Carl Linnaeus. With its twin spires rising nearly 119 meters, impressive stained-glass windows, medieval treasures, and richly decorated interior, Uppsala Cathedral attracts visitors from around the world and remains a powerful symbol of Sweden’s religious, cultural, and architectural heritage.
