Vegeholms Slott
Ängelholm, Sweden, Sweden
Vegeholm Castle, located south of Ängelholm in Skåne County, Sweden, near the mouth of Vegeån river, originated as a Danish fortress in the early 16th century, was destroyed by fire in 1525, and rebuilt around 1530 by Danish nobleman Tyge Krabbe.
The structure features a three-story stone building with a high, steeply pitched roof encircling an almost square courtyard, accented by large square towers at two corners. Acquired in 1902 by the von Hallwyl family for their daughter Irma and her husband Wilhelm von Geijer, it stands as a preserved historic manor amid scenic surroundings.
