Expanded into a fortress by the Tre Rosor family in the 16th century and rebuilt in the 1670s by architect Jean de la Vallée under Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie, it features preserved interiors, a chapel, and expansive parklands that served as a royal residence and administrative center.
Owned by the Wenngarn Foundation since 1970, the site now offers guided tours, cultural events, cafés, and access to its medieval-feeling rooms amid serene nature, celebrated for its unique historical continuity.
