Vyborg Castle State Museum in Vyborg, Russia, is a well-preserved medieval fortress built by the Swedes in 1293 on a small island in Vyborg Bay to control Karelia against Novgorod, featuring an irregular four-cornered layout with the massive five-story St. Olav's Tower as its dominant feature, surrounded by outer defensive walls along the rocky shoreline.

Expanded in the 15th-16th centuries under Swedish rule with Gothic brick architecture, it endured sieges, served as a royal residence, prison for Decembrists, and passed to Russia after Peter the Great's 1710 capture during the Great Northern War, later damaged by fires and WWII before 1891-1894 reconstruction.

Today it houses the Vyborg United Museum-Reserve with exhibits on local history, medieval life, underwater archaeology, knightly armor, and interactive displays like crossbow shooting, offering panoramic bay views from the tower.
