Wik's Castle (Viks slott) is Sweden's best-preserved medieval castle, located near Vik in Uppsala municipality, Uppland, on the shores of Lake Mälaren.
Built in the 15th century as a large stone and brick tower house fortress in the Hagunda härad region, it served as one of Mälar Valley's strongest strongholds during the Middle Ages, owned continuously by noble families across 24 generations and renovated in the 17th century with French stylistic influences plus 19th-century restorations by architect Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander.
Birthplace of Nobel laureate Svante Arrhenius and once used for medieval music recordings, the national monument now operates as a conference center with 86 beds, scenic park trails, and a terrace restaurant.
