Williamstown Castle
Dublin, Ireland, Ireland
Williamstown Castle was a country house and estate located in the Williamstown area of Blackrock, County Dublin, and is now incorporated into the grounds of Blackrock College. Built around 1752, it was approached via what is now Williamstown Avenue and originally stood within several acres of enclosed land. Over the years, the property was occupied by a number of notable residents before becoming part of Blackrock College in 1874. Its gate lodge was designed in a castle-like style, although that structure no longer survives. Today, Williamstown Castle remains as part of the Blackrock College campus, serving as a reminder of the area's historic estates and its transformation from a private residence into an educational setting.
