Zahara de los Atunes is a small coastal village on the Costa de la Luz in the Cádiz province of Andalusia, Spain, about 73 kilometers south of the city of Cádiz and between the towns of Barbate and Tarifa.

It is known for its long, wide golden‑sand beaches, calm turquoise waters, and a relaxed, low‑key vibe that has turned this former tuna‑fishing settlement into a popular tourist destination. The village retains elements of its fishing past, including the old Church of El Carmen and the nearby Palace of the Dukes of Medina Sidonia, and it is also famous for its traditional outdoor cinema that shows summer‑night movies to locals and visitors.

Zahara is surrounded by open countryside and dunes, and its proximity to Roman ruins at Baelo Claudia and to Tarifa’s surfing and windsurfing beaches makes it a good base for both beach and sightseeing trips along this stretch of the Andalusian coast.
