Zámek Cerhonice in Czechia originated from a stone fortress first documented in 1577, originally serving as part of a manorial estate of several villages connected to Zvíkov.

The site features remnants of the original 14th-15th century structure integrated into the present castle. In the early 19th century, the castle was rebuilt by the Premonstratensian order in Rococo style, including the construction of the chapel of St. Lawrence.

After several changes in ownership, including the Beneš family, the castle was nationalized and used for agricultural purposes during the 20th century, leading to deterioration. Since 2002, a meticulous restoration has been underway under private ownership, aiming to revive original architectural and artistic features such as the Rococo frescoes and ribbed vault ceilings.

The castle complex today features two wings, a courtyard with arcades and ornamental decorations, a restored chapel, and period interiors, making it a unique example of Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, and Empire styles within a small but historically significant building.
