Zámek Dymokury
Dymokury, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Zámek Dymokury in Czechia is a Baroque castle built in the 17th century on the site of a former medieval fortress dating back to the 14th century.
The fortress was replaced by the castle after 1654 under Vilém Lamboy, initially as a modest one-story structure. In 1673, the estate was acquired by Count Ludvík Collored, who expanded the castle by adding an additional floor and two more wings. Later, in 1786, under František Collored’s ownership, the castle was renovated and took on its present three-winged, one-story Baroque form.
The grounds include a chapel and a fountain, with several outbuildings surrounding the castle. After World War II, the castle was used by the military and in 1990 it was returned to the Černín family. The castle itself is not open to the public but remains an important historical monument reflecting its architectural evolution and noble heritage.
