Verified Zámek Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou

Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)

Zámek Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou is a historic château in the South Moravian town of Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou.

It was built after 1669 by the Althann family, likely on the site of an older medieval fortress, and was later remodeled into its present Neoclassical form in 1804. For centuries, the château served as an important aristocratic residence and was surrounded by a landscaped park.

It is also linked to notable cultural figures, including the painter Alfons Mucha and art historian Max Dvořák, who spent time in the area. After World War II, the building was used by state organizations and gradually fell into disrepair. Today, it is a protected cultural monument and a prominent local landmark, with ongoing efforts aimed at preserving and restoring this historically significant estate.
