Zámek Lojovice
Velké Popovice, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Zámek Lojovice is a baroque chateau in the village of Lojovice near Velké Popovice, Czech Republic, originally built in the 16th century on the site of a medieval fortress. It was extensively rebuilt around 1750 by Jan Josef Löw von Erlsfeld into a three-winged, one-story baroque residence with a mansard roof and a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
The castle later came into the possession of industrialist František Ringhoffer in the 19th century and was modified in the early 20th century when the chapel was converted into living space. Historically, the chateau and its surrounding garden were important local landmarks, and today it combines residential use with preserved heritage, surrounded by nature close to the Prague area.
