Zámek Příchovice
Příchovice, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Zámek Příchovice is an elegant Baroque château located in the village of Příchovice in the Plzeň Region of western Czechia.
It was built in 1718-1719 on the site of an older medieval fortress by Jindřich Antonín Henigar of Seeberg, based on designs by the architect Jakub Auguston the Younger. The château is known for its refined Baroque architecture, including a grand central hall, decorative balconies supported by sculpted atlases, and a surrounding park.
It later belonged to the Schönborn family and served various purposes during the 20th century, including use by the military. Today, the château is a protected cultural monument and remains in private ownership. It occasionally opens to the public for special events, particularly the popular Peony Festival, and is renowned for having one of the largest collections of tree peonies in the Czech Republic.
