Zámek Šťáhlavy
Šťáhlavy, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Zámek Šťáhlavy is a historic castle in the village of Šťáhlavy near Plzeň in western Czechia.
It began as a 16th-century Renaissance manor, was later expanded and altered in Baroque style, and today is a private property. The castle has a U-shaped layout, with a Renaissance wing, later additions, and decorative sgrafitto on part of the façade.
The grounds also include the church of St. Vojtěch, which began as a 17th-century chapel, and the site is closely linked with the Kokořovec and Černín families. It sits in a village known for several other sights, including the nearby Kozel estate and the ruins of Radyně Castle, which makes Šťáhlavy a small but historically rich stop in the Plzeň region.
