Zámek Vlasatice
Vlasatice, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Zámek Vlasatice in Czechia originated as a medieval stronghold, with foundations laid around 1342.
It was owned by the Černohorský family of Boskovice in the 16th century, when significant Renaissance-style modifications transformed it from a fortress into a castle reflecting the Italian villa style. In the mid-18th century, it underwent Baroque alterations.
The castle's importance declined under the Dietrichstein family, who owned Vlasatice from the early 17th century until 1923. After the turbulent periods of the Hussite Wars and the Thirty Years' War, during which the area faced destruction and repopulation, the castle shifted from a noble residence to offices and flats, and is today privately owned and not open to the public.
