Zbraslavský Zámek in Prague, Czechia, was originally a Cistercian monastery founded in the late 13th century by King Wenceslaus II, becoming the royal necropolis for members of the Přemyslid dynasty.

The monastery was burned down by Hussites in 1420 and experienced damage during various conflicts but was gradually rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries. In the early 18th century, a notable Baroque reconstruction was undertaken by architects Giovanni Santini and František Maxmilián Kaňka, who redesigned it into its current château form featuring elegant Baroque architecture.

The castle now serves various cultural roles, including housing parts of the National Museum Library, and its park and church remain accessible, symbolizing its historical and architectural importance as a former royal monastery turned château.
