Žinkovy Castle
Žinkovy, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Žinkovy Castle is a historic château in the town of Žinkovy in western Bohemia.
It evolved from a medieval castle and later a Renaissance fortress, before being transformed into a Baroque residence and extensively rebuilt in a romantic Neo-Renaissance style in 1897 by renowned Viennese architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer. The château is known for its distinctive architecture, with different façades and design elements inspired by various historical styles.
It stands beside a large pond and landscaped park, creating one of the most picturesque castle settings in the region. Over the centuries, the estate was owned by several noble families and later served as a recreational facility after World War II. Following restoration efforts, the castle now functions as a hotel and conference venue while remaining an important cultural monument and a notable landmark of Žinkovy.
