Zřícenina Hradu Šaumburk is the remains of a medieval castle located near Podhradní Lhota in the Zlín Region of eastern Czechia.

The castle was built in the late 13th century by Bishop Bruno von Schauenburg, who named it after his family’s ancestral seat in present-day Germany. It served as an important stronghold protecting the lands of the Olomouc bishopric. Over time, the castle lost its strategic importance and was eventually abandoned.

Today, only fragments of the outer walls, earthworks, and foundations remain, but these ruins still hint at the scale of what was once a significant medieval fortress. The site is protected as a cultural monument and lies in a scenic wooded area popular with hikers and history enthusiasts. It is located close to the ruins of Nový Šaumburk, a later castle that replaced the original stronghold.

Visitors are drawn to Šaumburk for its historical significance, peaceful natural surroundings, and attractive views of the Hostýn Hills and the surrounding Moravian countryside.
