Uber Expands With Hotel Bookings (GO-GET) and New Travel Mode
Uber is stepping further into the travel space with a suite of new features, including hotel bookings and a personalized “Travel Mode,” unveiled at its annual GO-GET product event.
Uber has partnered with Expedia Group to let users book hotel stays directly in the Uber app. The pilot program launches in the U.S. and is expected to expand globally, eventually covering more than 700,000 hotels worldwide.
Uber One members will enjoy extra perks:
- 0% back in Uber One credits on all hotel bookings
- At least 20% savings on a rotating list of 10,000+ participating hotels
Expedia will also integrate Uber rides into its app starting in June, with Vrbo vacation rentals joining later this year.
“Travel should feel effortless, and this partnership gets us one step closer to offering a seamless traveler experience,” said Expedia Group CEO Ariane Gorin. “Together, we’re helping travelers spend less time planning and more time enjoying the journey.”
Uber also introduced Travel Mode, a concierge‑style experience within the Uber and Uber Eats apps. Travelers will receive curated recommendations for local attractions, dining spots, and OpenTable reservations.
Key highlights include:
- Hotel room deliveries - Uber Eats orders brought directly to your door
- Forgotten essentials - items delivered if you left something out of your luggage
- Personalized suggestions - local favorites and tourist hotspots tailored to your trip
“Uber is becoming an app for everything helping people go, get, and now travel all in one place,” said Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. “Our job is to help people reclaim their time, spending less of it managing logistics and more of it actually living.”
Uber’s expansion also includes:
- Global Uber One membership - credits earned abroad apply when members return home
- Eats on the Way - reserve an Uber Black or SUV and have your driver arrive with food or drinks in hand
- AI‑powered Voice Bookings - a conversational assistant to secure rides and orders hands‑free
