Alang Fort
Maharashtra, India
Alang Fort is a remote hill fort in the Kalsubai range of the Western Ghats in Nashik, Maharashtra, renowned as one of the region’s most challenging forts to access.
Part of the famed AMK trek alongside Madangad and Kulang forts, it sits atop a vast plateau at about 1,400 meters, with notable features like caves, water cisterns, and remnants of ancient structures.
Originally linked with the Maratha Empire and used as a refuge during conflicts, today Alang Fort attracts seasoned trekkers seeking adventure, solitude, and sweeping views of the surrounding Sahyadri peaks, though poor trails and heavy rains make the journey difficult and best suited for experienced mountaineers.
