Arisaig is a small coastal village in the western Scottish Highlands, set on the shores of Loch nan Ceall on the Arisaig peninsula between Mallaig and Morar, at the southern end of the famous Road to the Isles.

It lies on a rugged, mountain‑framed stretch of the west coast with dramatic views across the sea toward the islands of Rum and Eigg, and is known for its sheltered bay, sandy beaches, and clear blue waters that attract visitors for walking, sea‑kayaking, and sailing.

The village has a marina, a visitor centre, a shop and post office, cafés, and a handful of small hotels and self‑catering cottages, and its history includes links to Bonnie Prince Charlie’s escape after the 1745 Jacobite rising and its use as a training base for World War II covert agents, while today it is valued mainly as a quiet, scenic base for exploring the wider West Highlands and nearby train journeys such as the one to Mallaig and the Isle of Skye.
