Bassein Beach, also known as Baseein Beach, is a relatively quiet and scenic beach in the Vasai‑Virar region of the Palghar district in Maharashtra, India, located near the historic town of Vasai (Bassein), about 50–77 kilometers from Mumbai.

It is a popular weekend getaway for people from the city who want a peaceful seaside outing away from heavily crowded urban beaches, with a long stretch of white sand, gentle waves, and a relaxed, picnic‑friendly atmosphere. The beach is set close to the ruins of the old Portuguese fort at Vasai and lies along the northern bank of Vasai Creek at the mouth of the Ulhas River, adding a historical backdrop to its coastal scenery.

While it is suitable for walking and sunbathing, it is generally not recommended for swimming because the sea is quite deep and the water can be rough, so most visitors stick to the shore to relax, play, and enjoy the views.
