Bidar Fort is a historic fortress located in Bidar city, Karnataka, India, built primarily by Sultan Ahmad Shah I of the Bahmani dynasty in the 15th century when he moved the capital from Gulbarga to Bidar.

The fort is known for its impressive red laterite stone walls, extensive defenses including a unique triple moat system, and large octagonal bastions equipped with cannons. Its design blends Persian, Turkish, and Indian architectural styles, showcasing royal palaces, mosques, gardens, and ornate gateways. Inside the fort are notable structures like the Rangeen Mahal, famed for its colorful tile work, and the Solah Khamba Mosque with sixteen pillars.

The fort's strategic location on a plateau with natural cliffs and man-made fortifications made it a strong military bastion. It played a key role in the rise and fall of the Bahmani Sultanate and later Deccan Sultanates, and today it stands as a major historical and architectural landmark representing the rich cultural heritage of the Deccan region.
