Chittorgarh Fort in Rajasthan, India, is one of the largest forts in Asia, sprawling over 700 acres atop a 180-meter high rocky hill. Its origins date back to the 7th century and it was first built by Chitrangad of the Mori dynasty, with legendary ties to Bhima from the Mahabharata epic.

The fort is surrounded by massive walls extending 13 kilometers and is accessed through seven fortified gates, each with historical significance. Inside, the fort complex includes 65 historic structures such as four palaces, 19 large temples, 20 water bodies, memorials, and victory towers, reflecting a blend of Hindu Rajput and Jain architecture.

The Vijay Stambha, or Tower of Victory, stands as a prominent symbol commemorating Rana Kumbha’s military triumphs, while the Kirti Stambha honors Jain heritage. The fort endured three major sieges in its history and showcases Rajput valor, sacrifice, and resilience with elaborate defensive walls, notched parapets for archers, and secret tunnels.
