Cumberland East Bay forms the eastern arm of Cumberland Bay on the northern coast of South Georgia, a remote sub-Antarctic island in the British Overseas Territory of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, UK.
Nearly 3 miles wide and extending 8 miles southeast between Sappho Point on Thatcher Peninsula and Barff Point on Barff Peninsula, it features Nordenskjöld Glacier at its head, glacial plains like Hestesletten, and depths up to 270 meters.
First surveyed by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–04) as "South Bay" and renamed by Discovery Investigations (1926–29), it served strategic roles during the Falklands War and now supports oceanographic research amid its fjord ecosystem.
