Zvornik Fortress in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a large medieval stronghold built likely in the late 12th or early 13th century, positioned on a hill overlooking the Drina River and the city of Zvornik. It is divided into three main parts: the Lower, Middle, and Upper Towns, which feature thick stone walls, a tall central tower, and several defensive structures adapted over centuries.

The fortress was historically significant as a border fortification and trade link, passing through the hands of Bosnian, Serbian Despotate, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian rulers. It played important roles during various conflicts, including the Ottoman period when it served as the capital of the Sanjak of Zvornik, and during World War II and the Bosnian War in the 20th century.

Today, it remains one of the largest and best-preserved medieval fortresses in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with panoramic views and rich historical layers reflecting its strategic and cultural importance.
