Hitchin Physic Garden, located in Paynes Park near the former Hitchin Museum in the United Kingdom, is a charming garden dedicated to medicinal plants and their historical uses.

Created in the 1980s to complement a reconstructed Victorian chemist shop exhibit, the garden is designed into four sections representing household uses, external ailments, internal ailments, and culinary purposes. It features about 100 plant species, many with local historical roots linked to Hitchin’s lavender industry and early 19th-century chemist William Ransom, whose work inspired much of the garden's plant selection.

The garden combines historic elements like York stone paths, cast iron railings, a unique pestle-and-mortar sundial, and fragrant rose hedges. Volunteers maintain the garden, which serves as a colorful, educational oasis for visitors, hosting events such as an annual Lavender Fair while preserving the town's rich botanical and pharmaceutical heritage.
