Ibaraki Botanical Garden (Ibaraki-ken Shokubutsuen) is a well-maintained prefectural botanical garden and arboretum located at 4589 To in Naka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, established in 1981. The garden houses approximately 600 different plant species with over 50,000 plants total, including 240 species of tropical plants and about 360 types of trees in its arboretum, along with around 70 bird species. It features four distinct areas: a Rose Garden, Maple Garden, Peony Garden, and Tropical Garden, plus additional collections of camellias, conifers, tropical fruit trees, aquatic plants, and a rock garden. The Tropical Garden greenhouse is open 9:30–16:00 while the rest of the garden opens at 9:00 and closes at 16:30, and the facility is closed Mondays (except when a national holiday falls on Monday) and during the New Year holiday from December 29 to January 3. Admission is 300 yen for adults (150 yen for ages 70+), with free entry for junior high students and younger, and it can be reached by a 40-minute bus from JR Mito Station or a 10-minute drive from Naka IC on the Joban Expressway.
