Idar Fort in Gujarat, also known as Idariyo Gadh, is a historical hill fort situated in the Sabarkantha district, surrounded by the Aravalli hills. The fort's origins trace back to medieval times and it was initially built by the Bhil tribe before being taken over by Rajput rulers, such as the Rathores of Marwar. The fort played a significant role in regional conflicts, alternating control between the Rajputs, Mughals, and British.

Architecturally, it blends Hindu and Mughal styles and includes remnants of palaces, temples, water reservoirs, and massive gates. The fort's strategic location atop granite hills made it a formidable defense, famously difficult to conquer, which inspired local folk songs celebrating its resilience.

Today, it offers panoramic views, historical structures like the Roothi Rani's Palace, and spiritual sites such as the Vajra Mata temple in a natural cavern, attracting visitors interested in history, architecture, and trekking.
