The Iwabitsu Castle Ruins are the remains of a medieval Japanese mountain castle (yamashiro) located on Mount Iwabitsu in Higashiagatsuma, Gunma Prefecture, Japan.
Originally built around the 13th century by the local Agatsuma clan, the castle later came under the control of the Saitō clan and, from the late 16th century, served as a key base for the famous Sanada clan, particularly Sanada Yukitaka and his descendants.
Positioned in a long valley along the Agatsuma River, the site controlled an important stretch of the Shinshū Kaidō road, linking Takasaki with Shinano Province and giving the castle strategic military and transport significance.
