Jivdhan Fort
Ghatghar, Maharashtra, India
Jivdhan Fort, also spelled Jeevdhan, is a hill fortress located about 1 km from the town of Ghatghar in the Junnar taluka of Pune district, Maharashtra, India.
Rising to roughly 1,145 metres above sea level in the Sahyadri range, it served as a key defensive post guarding the historic Naneghat trade pass between the western coast and the Deccan plateau, helping protect the Region for empires from the Satavahana to the Maratha period.
The fort is now largely in ruins, with steep climbs and broken steps to the top, and it has become a popular but challenging trekking destination known for its dramatic cliff faces, panoramic views, and nearby adventure activities such as valley crossing and rappelling.
