Kastelholm Castle, located near Kastelholm village in Sund municipality on the Åland Islands, Finland, is a medieval fortress built in the late 14th century. Originally constructed on a small island surrounded by moats, it served as both a military stronghold and administrative center, controlling the Åland region.

The castle has a rectangular stone keep, fortified by thick walls and gate towers added in later centuries, making it a vital defensive structure for the Swedish crown. It was home to notable historical figures, including King Gustav I of Sweden, and played a key role in Nordic politics and conflicts through the centuries.

Although damaged by fire and war, extensive restoration work has preserved much of its medieval architecture, including a chapel and a prison museum known as Vita Björn. Today, Kastelholm Castle is a popular cultural and historical attraction, hosting medieval festivals and offering visitors a glimpse into Finland's medieval heritage within a scenic coastal setting.
