Kuusisto Bishop's Castle Ruins are the remains of a major medieval castle on Kuusisto Island near Kaarina in southwestern Finland.

Built in the early 1300s, the castle served as the residence and stronghold of the bishops of Turku and became one of the most important religious, political, and economic centers in medieval Finland. At its height in the 1400s and early 1500s, it was one of the largest bishop’s castles in the Swedish realm and was known for its advanced features and relative luxury.

The castle’s importance ended after the Protestant Reformation, when King Gustav Vasa ordered it to be demolished in 1528. Today, the atmospheric ruins offer visitors a glimpse into Finland’s medieval past. Surrounded by coastal scenery, nature trails, and rich birdlife, the site combines historical significance with beautiful natural surroundings and is open to the public year-round.
