Khonoma Fort, also known as Semoma Fort, is situated in Khonoma village, Nagaland, and was built by the Angami Naga warriors in 1825.

It became a stronghold during the fierce resistance against British colonial forces, witnessing two major battles in 1850 and 1879. Despite repeated demolitions by the British, it was rebuilt several times, with the last reconstruction occurring in 1990.

The fort's strategic hilltop location and robust construction made it a formidable defense point, symbolizing the courage and martial tradition of the Angami Nagas. Khonoma village itself is known for its rich cultural heritage, lush greenery, and is recognized as Asia’s first green village due to its conservation efforts. The fort and the village reflect a history of valiant defense, local pride, and deep cultural roots connected to the region's tribal identity.
