Kishangarh Fort, also known as Roopangarh, is a historic Rajput fort located in Kishangarh city of Ajmer district in Rajasthan, about 27 km from Ajmer, built mainly in the 17th century by Maharaja Roop Singh Rathore of the Kishangarh royal family around 1649–1653 to protect the city and serve as the royal residence.

Kishangarh town itself was founded in 1609 by Prince Kishan Singh of Jodhpur, a branch of the Rathore dynasty, and under Roop Singh’s rule the fort became famous for its blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles, featuring nine turreted fortifications, thick walls, a deep moated enclosure, and multiple gateways such as Ganesh Gate, Chand Gate, and Kalki Gate.

Inside the fort are several courtyards, palaces like the Phool Mahal (Flower Palace), which was originally a summer palace with beautiful frescoes and paintings, and temples including Kalyanji Temple, Khodiyar Mata Temple, and Jain temples, while the fort also houses ancient monuments, miniature paintings such as the famous Bani Thani style, and remnants of jails, granaries, armories, and foundries.
