Krishnagiri Fort, located in Tamil Nadu, is a historically significant fortress originally built by the Vijayanagara Empire and later influenced by various rulers including the Madurai Nayaks, Mysore Wodeyars, and the British.

Known as part of the "Baramahal" or "Twelve Forts," it served as a vital defense gateway protecting southern Tamil Nadu from invasions. The fort showcases a blend of Vijayanagara and Mysore architectural styles characterized by strong walls, bastions, and watchtowers adorned with intricate sculptures. Perched atop a hill, it offers stunning panoramic views of the Krishna River and surrounding greenery.

Within the fort are important religious sites such as a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, a mosque, a Jain Basadi, and temples to Narasimha and Ganesh, reflecting the cultural diversity and historic importance of the site. Krishnagiri Fort played key roles in battles during the Mysore wars, and after British control in the late 18th century, its military importance declined.
