The Madhavaram Botanical Garden in Chennai, India, was established in 2018 by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department on about 20 acres of land in the Madhavaram Milk Colony.
It is the largest botanical garden in the city after Semmozhi Poonga and showcases nearly 400 plant species, including sections dedicated to fruits, medicinal plants, indoor plants, cacti, and ornamental arboretum.
The garden features water bodies such as a lake and lily pond, a small bridge designed to attract birds, and thematic areas like herbal, bonsai, and trellis gardens. Facilities include playgrounds, cascades, fountains, and an open-air theater for 150 people. The garden is designed for both leisure and education, serving as a green oasis that promotes plant conservation, biodiversity awareness, and family-friendly recreation in Chennai.
