Manora Fort, located in Sarabendrarajanpattinam near the Bay of Bengal in Tamil Nadu, is a historic octagonal tower built by the Maratha ruler Serfoji II in 1814-1815 to commemorate the British victory over Napoleon Bonaparte at the Battle of Waterloo.

Standing about 23 meters tall with eight stories, the fort combines features of a lighthouse and defensive structure, surrounded by a wall and moat. It showcases Dravidian architecture with elements resembling a North Indian pagoda, featuring arched windows, circular staircases, and well-ventilated rooms. Historically, it served as a royal residence, military station, and lighthouse for sea vessels.

The fort also had an effective water supply system drawing from nearby ponds. It suffered some damage during the 2004 tsunami but has undergone restoration and infrastructure improvements to support tourism.

Manora remains a celebrated monument symbolizing Maratha allegiance with the British during colonial times and stands as a striking architectural and cultural landmark overlooking the sea.
