Marciana is one of the oldest towns on the island of Elba, Italy, perched on a hill about 375 meters above sea level, known for its well-preserved medieval character with narrow, stepped streets, ancient gates, and abundant flowers.

Historically, Marciana was under the rule of the Appiani family who built the fortress as a refuge against pirate raids, and the town still reflects this medieval legacy.

It is also the gateway to the highest peak of Elba, Mount Capanne, accessible by a cable car.
