Nagamachi Samurai District in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, is a quiet, well‑preserved neighborhood that once housed middle‑ to high‑ranking samurai who served the powerful Maeda lords of the Kaga Domain. Laid out during the Edo period, it features narrow stone‑paved lanes, tall earthen walls, old wooden gates, and a small canal that formed part of Kanazawa’s historic water system.
