Mottisfont, located in the United Kingdom and managed by the National Trust, is a historic estate originally founded as an Augustinian priory in 1201.

After the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 16th century, the priory was transformed into a grand Tudor country house by Sir William Sandys. Over the centuries, the house and estate were remodeled in Georgian style and became known for hunting and fishing. In the 20th century, the Russells restored the property and filled it with fine art and antiques.

Mottisfont is especially famous for its stunning walled rose garden, created by Graham Stuart Thomas, which houses over 500 varieties of old and once-flowering roses. The estate features ancient trees, water features, and natural landscapes, making it a celebrated place for both cultural heritage and horticultural beauty.

It was gifted to the National Trust in 1957 and remains open to visitors as a beautiful historic house and garden.
