Palashi, Maharashtra, India

Palashi Fort, located in the village of Palashi (also called Palshi) in Parner taluka of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra, is a unique fortified village enclosed within ancient walls built between 1787 and 1797.

The fort has 16 bastions and multiple gates, with the northern gate being the main entrance. The fortification was constructed by the Palshikar family after they were granted the land following the Third Battle of Panipat in 1761. Inside the fort are significant historical sites, including the Palshikar Wada, a mansion built about 250 years ago with exquisite wooden carvings, and several temples including one dedicated to Lord Vitthal and a stone temple of Lord Shiva.
