Rajgad, located in Maharashtra, India, is a historic hill fort that served as the first capital of the Maratha Empire under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for around 26 years before the capital shifted to Raigad Fort.

Situated in the Sahyadri mountain range at an elevation of 1,376 meters, the fort is renowned for its strategic location, tough defenses, and impressive architecture. It spans a wide area, featuring multiple sections such as Padmavati Machi, Sanjivani Machi, and Suvela Machi, each playing important roles in defense and administration.
