Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan, originated in 1835 as a modest garden retreat built for the queen’s handmaiden and was later expanded into a royal guesthouse and hunting lodge.

By the early 20th century, it was transformed into a grand palace in the Indo-Saracenic style, blending Rajput and Mughal architectural elements with ornate domes, carved balconies, and intricately decorated interiors. The palace became the main residence of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II and his queen, hosting royal ceremonies and important guests.

After India’s independence, it was converted into India’s first luxury palace hotel, now managed by Taj Hotels, preserving its rich heritage along with lavish gardens, hand-painted frescoes, and elegant royal suites. The palace remains a symbol of Jaipur's royal legacy and exquisite architecture.
