The fort has witnessed several historic events, including battles involving the Baghela Rajputs, Mughals, Marathas, and British, serving as the residence of rulers and administrators. Since independence, it has been converted into a museum showcasing artifacts such as weapons and sculptures, and nearby attractions include a white tiger safari.
